Preventing AC Problems During Dubai Summer

August 18, 2026 5 min readBy MAG AC Team

Dubai summers push every AC system to its limit. Here's how to keep yours running reliably from May through September, without an emergency breakdown.

Between June and September, Dubai AC units run almost continuously — often 18 to 20 hours a day. That kind of load exposes any weakness in the system fast, usually as a breakdown on the hottest afternoon of the week.

Service before the peak, not during it. Book your pre-summer check in April or early May, while technicians have availability and before compressors are under maximum strain.

Clean or replace filters monthly during peak season. A dirty filter forces the compressor to work harder, raises your bill, and is the single most common cause of weak airflow.

Keep outdoor condenser units clear of dust, sand and direct blocking objects. Dubai's dust storms clog coils quickly — a coil clean every 2–3 months keeps efficiency up.

Watch for ice on indoor units, unusual noises, or a sharp jump in your DEWA bill — all early warning signs of a refrigerant leak or failing compressor.

An AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) is the most reliable way to avoid summer breakdowns: scheduled cleaning, priority emergency response and discounted repairs, all locked in before the heat arrives.
